A reservation is confirmed from the moment we have received the required down payment of 50% of the total rental price
The remaining 50%, deposit fee and cleaning fee must be received by us no later than 40 days before the check-in date. If this has not taken place, you will receive an email with a payment request to pay the remainder within 5 days. If this does not happen, this will be seen as a cancellation of the house by the tenant and the regular cancellation policy will apply. If the reservation takes place less than 40 days before the check in, payment of the full rental price, deposit fee an cleaning fee is needed.
Due to the uncertainty of the situation, we have decided to offer free cancellation and refund of the full amount of the booking if France or the Dordogne specifically becomes an orange zone (meaning the foreign ministery discourages all non-necessary travel due to COVID 19) and you are unable to visit Petite Vallée due to this reason. This counts until the very day of arrival.
Luckily Petite Vallée is coronaproof. Our gîtes and tent have plenty of privacy. The tent has its own private toilet, sink and shower in the sanitary building.
The table d’hôtes is outdoor with a table per accommodation and we respect the distance between the tables. We take hygiène very seriously, this counts for the accomodations, sanitary building as well as the kitchen ofcourse.
We feel blessed to be in a secluded little valley with plenty of space and lush nature all around. We believe it is not only in these corona-days that being outdoor in nature is good…
Expect an unforgetable holiday in fresh air, with plenty of space, in a healthy environment. With good and clean food of course.
Cancellation for any other reason than COVID 19:
If canceled between 90-60 days prior to arrival, the cancellation costs are 25% of the entire rental price.
In case of cancellation between 59 and 41 days before arrival, the costs are 50% of the rental price.
If canceled 40 days or less before arrival, the costs are 100% of the rental price.
In case this situation might occur we always want to receive your message in writing to email@example.com.
If you don’t use the holiday home or you leave it before the end of the rental period, no refund will be made.
In high season (July & August) the minimum stay is a week with check-in and -out on Saturday. In high season check-in is on Saturday from 16:00. Check-out is at 10:00 on Saturday. This gives us time to clean and prepare for the next guests. Outside of these two months the minimum stay is 3 nights. If you have booked just several nights, check-in is from 16:00 the day of arrival and check-out 10:00 on the departure day.
We do not have pin and credit card facilities.
Unfortunately we do not allow pets at Petite Vallée in mid- and high season (26th of June until the 3rd of September). Outside of these dates pets are allowed in consultation.
Our tents and gîtes are non smoking. Also during dinner time we don’t allow smoking. An extra important note is to always be careful when you put out your cigarette. Our area is very dry during summer time and there is a danger of fire
The swimming pool is open from sunrise to sunset. There is no life guard on duty, the pool is enclosed. We ask you to take all precautions necessary to use the swimming pool carefully. Especially when visiting Petite Vallée with young children. We ask you to watch over the children yourself when they are swimming. Diving is forbidden! In case of an accident the owners cannot be held responsible for any injury caused to the guest, their family or friends.
Please note it is not allowed to bring food and drinks to the swimmingpool.
Petite Vallée (represented by Hans de Vries & Yasmin Havers) is in no way liable for any loss, theft or damage to your possessions or personal injuries sustained during your stay and you accept full responsibility for your children at all times. We strongly advise you organise the provision of insurance to cover any losses/injuries incurred by you.
We kindly ask you to be aware of your surrounding and neighbours regarding music and noise.
We ask you for a deposit fee of €200,-. We may keep a part of the deposit if there are any defects or damage or if the house isn’t left the way you have found it, this means:
We will provide bed linen and towels for your stay. We kindly ask you not to use the towels at the swimming pool, please bring your own towels for this.
If you stay longer than a week, we will provide you with a clean set of bed linen and towels.
To ensure a clean house for our next guests, we charge a cleaning fee. €45 cleaning fee for La Tente and Le Pigeonnier and €75 for La Source and La Fontaine. But we would also kindly ask you to leave the house the way you found it.
Be aware: Petite Vallée is located in a valley. The houses are built on the hills. This means that there is a lot of difference in height on the property and limited accessibility. Please take into account that a walk up to your accommodation can be a little bit of a workout.
There are many tiny walls and hills. It is not possible for us to build a fence everywhere so watch your children at all times!
In the small sanitary building you will find a washing machine that you can use during your stay. The cost is €5,- per wash.
In mid- and high season (June 26th – September 4th) a fixed 3-course menu is served once a week on Monday. We will cook for a minimum of 4 adults, so please let us know if you wish to join the day before. The price is €25,- per person excluding drinks.
Our aim is to serve you our take on a truly sustainable meal. Vegetables are key, but at times we will serve meat from animals who only had one bad day in their lives. We believe soil and people need animals to stay healthy.
To keep our kitchen free from stress and the food warm and delicious, we have to minimize the variations we have to do to each dish. For this reason it’s not possible for us to serve a vegan menu. Please make sure to let us know if you have any allergies so we can adjust the menu accordingly.
The food is simple. We use ingredients from our garden, the forest or sourced from local sustainable farmers. We want you to enjoy a menu that is delicious, local, sustainable and follows the seasons.
With the food we serve natural- or organic wines or alcohol free alternatives.
Every Wednesday we throw a pizza party. For €15 you can eat as many slices as you want. Kids are welcome to make their own pizza. Let us know the day before if you wish to join. Minimum amount of people is 4.
If you order bread before 11:00, it will be fresh from the bakery at your doorstep at 08:30 the morning after.
For €25 per week we will provide you with a baby bed and chair. Kindly reserve in advance, so we can accommodate that.
